As a former North Carolinian, glad to see the support from you and @Double_Bogey_Dave on joining us in the Midwest.
Unfortunately, I have to drop out due to a work schedule conflict.n
Ouch. Was it something I said? Or is it a “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us” kind of situation?
Hahaha. Hope the new town is treating you well!
It is, had to get out of Durham. That town wasn’t big enough for the both of us.
Gonna have to drop out. After this past weekend, doesn’t look like the shoulder will hold up to multiple rounds/days.
What’s the turnaround time once the shop is up for delivery? At this point, is it worth ordering anything from another supplier if the Levelwear shop can’t be setup this week?
We were alerted late last week that the Levelwear web store is no longer an option for the events as their goal posts have appeared to move a bit.
I’m currently working with a local screen printer as well as @sundaybag and @Double_Bogey_Dave on some potential other options.
Unfortunate situation, but we’ll do what we can to at least provide some sort of merch for the event. I’d hate for the lone pine logo go to waste!
I’ll buy something even if it’s ready after the event. Still not happy with myself for missing out on the March Mudness gear.
So, @Renlibrarian is going to the whole event and I’m going with him, originally under the assumption that I wouldn’t be able to participate in any of the activities during the day, due to a two week online program for teachers I’m doing.
Just found out my Sunday is free. SO I’M (wanting to) GO PLAY AND INFLICT MY NOVICE GOLFER SELF ON PEOPLE.
But all exuberance aside, the format for Sunday is Scotch Foursomes, and I’m a little concerned that I’m going to royally fuck over anyone who gets paired with me. I can swing a golf club, I’m just inconsistent, but I am also practicing a lot between now and then. In the spirit of letting golfers golf and have fun, would it be more polite to sit this one out until I get more consistent?
Also, the payment thing is only for the Saturday event. Do I gotta do anything if I’m just playing on Sunday, assuming I’m not just a pariah?
Don’t you even think about sitting out on Sunday!
Format is scotch foursomes but it’s more of a fun day than anything else. You’ll find that Madison GC is a great course for all skill levels.
Payment for the Sunday activities will be on site at Madison
The real question is which set of blades are you going play for the Sunday round?
I think I have an answer to that question! I’ll be playing my Wilson FG-17’s, mostly because my other set has not been shortened or regripped (I’m a whopping total of 5’1” and need undersized grips), and given their original price, that process would be more than the clubs themselves. When we aren’t on walkabout, we have a set up at home for me to do all of that on my own, but I don’t think my brother has all the requisite materials.
And thank you to @kevjones for the encouragement and details! I’ll go ahead and plan to join on Sunday .
Plus Michael Feagles from Illinois and Willie Mack from the APGA Tour, among others! Good group of sponsor exemptions - they always do a nice job of giving some “local” kids good opportunities.
Will the winner be receiving a sweet 42 inch television?
Better yet, a lithium laptop battery.
In all seriousness, we are working on some hole prizes and other awards for both Saturday and Sunday.
Guis,
Can’t make the event, but I will be passing through Peoria this coming Thursday on my way to Chicago. Was hoping to loop Lick Creek Thursday afternoon. Tee off at 3pm. Walking. PCM.
Anyone care to join me? It’d be great to have a sherpa!
