Peoria Korn(Kan) Ferry Tour Qualifier - TBD 2022 - (Also a Busch Light Mega-Thread)

This Saturday is Maxamania, which is another Refuge event in Michigan supporting our event charity GFPD and in conjunction with that @tchap80 is hosting their annual fundraiser for the GFPD - the foundation that funds medical research for Max’s disorder.

The fundraiser includes an online auction and everything raised through the online auction goes straight to the GFPD.

This is probably a longshot, but the major item is a 1-year membership to the Dormie Network. If anyone out there has an interest or knows someone looking to try it out, $10k and it’s yours. Please spread the word if you know of anyone thinking about it!

Other items that might be of interest:

  • A couple of gift cards to a certain “small shop” we all know and love
  • A complete Golfer’s Journal back-issue bundle + 1 year subscription (right now only going for $75, which is insane)
  • Duncan Keith Autographed Blackhawks jersey
  • A private Lake Michigan Chicago yacht cruise for 8
  • One week in Palm Desert
  • Autographed framed Michael Jordan “The Last Shot” picture
  • VIP package at the Korn Ferry stop in Springfield, IL in July - Memorial Health Championship
  • Twosome at TPC Deere Run
  • Autographed Gary Woodland Wilson hat (thanks @TCRBrad )
  • Autographed Bryson DeChambeau flag from the 5th Major
  • And some cool artwork/woodwork if anything strikes your fancy

We’ve also got some custom baseball bats for your Cubs and Sox fans in the house.

We laser your name on one of these game-ready beauties:

Thanks @kevjones and @TCRBrad - I’ll just add that the bulk of the items are central Illinois courses (Including all the public Bloomington-Normal courses along with Metamora Fields/Weaver Ridge), breweries (Keg Grove, Riggs, Lil Beaver, White Oak), restaurants, etc.

So anyone that’s within driving distance might find something good!

@tchap80 just so you are aware, Max and the GFPD are one of very few reasons I would openly promote something that involves this many ISU Redbirds merch/experiences!

Found my scripting for beers at Country Club BBQ and Jimmy’s, and inevitably Crusen’s on Farm. Heading down in a couple weeks to hang with some old work friends. Hopefully gonna play Metamora Fields with a buddy, that was the one course I never made it to during my time there.

Unfortunately I’ve got to WD from the event. Family vacation was confirmed over the weekend for the 7th-11th.

I’m still in for $45-$50+ worth of merch, so look forward to seeing what @kevjones and @sundaybag are coming up with.

Will there be an auction/raffle?

Found out my fiancée is going to be out of town the weekend it’s on, so now I’m trying to figure out if I can make this weekend work. I’m in Detroit and the drive is 6.5 hours, which is easy enough for me. Fingers crossed and will keep an eye on this thread!

We don’t have anything lined up for auction/raffle currently.

Not event specific, but big news in the Peoria area golf scene.

David Perkins is one of the top amateur players in the country and hails from East Peoria. He was one of 16 invites to the US Walker Cup practice this year and just graduated from Illinois State.

Over the weekend he set the course record at Pekin Country Club with a 59!

Look at you!.. pushing the work of a Redbird! I’d say I’m proud of you, but I know it hurts (on the inside).

Side note - I’m also both disgusted and impressed.

Found a relationship loophole, this gui is back on the Saturday roster.

You’re playing a dangerous game - good luck.

I played Weaver Ridge last weekend for the first time in about 5 years. The place remains one of my favorite routings in the Peoria area (when riding in a cart). Before going there I had heard that the bunkers were in rough shape, which held to be true. However, the rest of the course was in very good condition! Lots of really fun golf holes out there.

Side note to an earlier comment: I perennially got my shit kicked in by David Perkins on the junior circuit. Great golfer, even better dude

Hate to be wishy-washy, but vacation has now been moved up a day so I may be in for Sunday if I can help round out numbers, and will hopefully most definitely find a way to make it out Saturday night.

The fiancé has a coworker who is getting married on Sunday, and the choice of playing a Refuge event vs a completely random wedding is very easy in my head. Hers? Probably not so easy.

You’re more than welcome for whatever portion of the weekend you can make work! Looks like we’ll have some pretty decent numbers for a Friday afternoon round at Lick Creek also.

The only reason I’d ever root for an ISU gui.

We’ve played in a few events together the last couple of years and he’s always been awesome with my son who follows him like a shadow.

I’m gonna have to back out but something else has claimed that weekend. Bummed I can’t make the trip.

What’s the good word?

I sent Ben an email on this very topic earlier today. I know they’ve all been on the road quite a bit lately and are quite busy, so hopefully I’ll have an update soon.
