I got some bangers in already. Kankakee Elks is insane, maybe my favorite greens of any course I’ve played in a minute. The real SV (Spring Valley) is an absolute treat, the land is amazing, and the routing is nearly perfect (just bring back the old 7/8 and it is). Eagle Springs is just a gem, and the new super is doing some really really great things out there.
But I have to give the nod to White Bear Yacht Club. They turned a shit hole (18) into a fine hole with a great green complex, and have been putting in the work elsewhere. The green on 12 is now insane, and it’s cool to see them restoring it and making the green pads the correct size. Just an insane price of land, good set of greens, and routing to die for.
Fuck. Ok, NCW single muscle pad blades, raw to start. Little V-sole with a mid bounce. As short heel to toe as they can get, and as thin topline as allowed while keeping the muscle pad not visible at address. 2mm onset in the 4-6, 1mm onset in the 7-8, 0mm in the 9/P. 4-P, 48* PW.
Nice sharp transition at the top line toe, with a little smooth overall toe (similar to the TN-87). Beveled topline like the Rev33/RF Forged.
125x Axiom, +.25", D3.5 SW, SSC AeroChord, 2+3 wraps.
Feels like a copout, but Red Bull would be the way, especially if I can parlay it into some free snowboard trips and stuff. Also just having access to unlimited caffeine.
Again, copout, but MotM (I) is the easy choice for me. I honestly haven’t listened to a lot of Cudi since college, so it’s a “I’m not familiar with you’re game” since PP&DS.
Also: Shill Time
Come play in NSU’s premiere event, North Star Shootout. It’s no Ope, but we try to get as Ope Adjacent as we can.
My favorite hole on course. The approach is gnarly. Crossing bunkers now cover the entire width of the fairway. 13 (par 5) green is substantially larger too.
I have a soft spot for the Tonight Dough, but my favorite is Peanut Butter Half Baked.
Tough question. Modano is the GOAT, and Jamie Benn is now, but if we’re going real off the beaten path, Antoine Roussel, Steve Ott, Marty Turco, and Derian Hatcher. Also shout out to Travis Morin on the Texas Stars, he was the man.
Easy, tacos. So versatile, so many different things you can do with a taco for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
I have 6 pairs of shoes, but the FJ HyperFlex are my favorite by far
