Ope 4 - July 11th and 12th, 2025 (Raffle sheet in post 3800) (Part 1)

Unrelated but kinda related because of time frame - Mrs. Nanski and I are in the early stages of plotting Solheim 2026 in the Netherlands

You’re washed. Went to an elite university, well kept stache, in control of your emotions.

I just venmo’d @Forty my deposit for this - don’t even care if it’s real.

The more I’m bribed, the more interested i am in doing this.

What do you need?

I’ll fly to LAX pre-flight to be your personal valet for the journey over, if we’re doing bribes.

The Ope-n at St Andrew’s has a nice ring to it. Can’t believe no one has ever done this before.

Any chance Lawsonia would be cool with this attire on the course?

“Collared shirts are required. Cut-off shorts, t-shirts, denim jeans, and tank tops are not allowed. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Soft spikes only.”

Im still tempted to roll out the sleeveless polo shirts next year as they are 1. Not tank tops by definition, 2. Have a collar, and 3. Socially acceptable for women to wear.

The vision is simple

Team Washed
Playing Captain - Forty
+5-11 players

Team Unwashed
Playing Caltain - @midwestgolfbum
+5-11 players

The determining factor on team size would be IF I could somehow finagle “X” amount of tee times on the Old. My chances on that are slim but I will pull out all the cards on the people I know at the Links Trust/in town.

Ideal competition breakdown:

Day 1

Jubilee
Four-Ball (some % of net) 3-6 matches
Foursomes (some % of net) 3-6 matches

Day 2
New
Four-Ball (some % of net) 3-6 matches
Foursomes (some % of net) 3-6 matches

Day 3
Old
Singles (some % of net) 6-12 matches

Could build out more rounds in Fife or anywhere in Scotland around it for funsies for those interested.

I would host a dinner at the St Andrews Golf Club before the Singles match. Coat required.

This is all subject to massive change should I commit to doing this. Just having fun thinking out loud about it.
