I thought for a long time about this while I was walking the dog.
My gut immediately went to Milwaukee Country Club because how they use the Milwaukee River is sensual and erotic. It’s probably my favorite 4 hole span I’ve ever played.
BUT, as much as I love water on a golf course (a lot), if I have to play this course for the rest of my life the answer is Lido. The number of different ways you can play that golf course is intoxicating to think about. Just off the top of my head - Can I hit the short cut on the channel hole? Can I play the channel hole normally and hold that raised green? Can I hit the postage stamp green? Hitting into the punchbowl will never get old. Hitting the redan right. I’ve been absolutely giddy watching us get fucked by the redan each time, after I thought everyone hit it right, nope everyone dumped into that bunker. It’s a true fuck around and find out situation and I’m confident each time would be different for the rest of my life.
BUT WAIT
If I really need to spice things up I can take out my hickories and go to the forward tees! The options are endless. Things could get nuts with conditions. I could probaly go on for another 500 words, God I love that place and can’t wait to get back this summer.
