Ope 4 - July 11th and 12th, 2025 (Raffle sheet in post 3800) (Part 1)

Still stumped that I didn’t get one at Cumberland this year but, hey, more goals to work toward

I got very close to doing just that! I apparently rattled the flagstick with my second shot (I forget if this was day 1 or 2) and it came back to ~15ft for my eagle putt. Easiest birdie of my life

I got close to being on in2 the 2nd day but the ball rolled off the back of the green into the bunker.

Comfy par.

Sending vibes this happens in 2025, 11 would be a great first eagle

10 would be even better.

Having never played the courses before, I tried to go to Google Earth to put together a US Open style composite course, but I couldn’t make it work in any satisfying way.

But does Woodlands 18 have two greens? Certainly looked like it from the picture.

@Worst12onEarth what’s the right green for?

The right green was the old 18 but the haters and losers complained so much they switched to the left green. The old green is now the 19th hole, baby wedge tiebreaker situation.

Haters just couldnt hit a 240 yard ball that sliced 90 degrees at the end. Cant wait for 2035 when they restore the course and bring back the bunkers and trees as the architect originally intended.

Is there a reason they didn’t just cut some trees down and use the original green?

Clostest to the pin of course… allegedly

Even if they cut the trees down, it’s still a very awkward almost 90 degree blind dogleg with a terrible green. Plus that green doesn’t grow grass well and was always in terrible shape.

Links #2 is a kick in the teeth to open, I love it.

I’m opening with Links #18 it’s the perfect starter pack.

I think 18 at woodlands was a better par five before. But would be a better par 4 now if they moved the tee up just a little bit.

I like the new version of 18 on the woods. And that’s coming from someone who can cut the shit out of the golf ball :joy::joy::joy:

The green complex is really cool. Maybe i just like that it gives people options to get aggressive or lay up

(Romo voice) Ehhhhhhhh I don’t know, Jim!

Current iteration still requires a pretty good drive to have a shot at the best green on Woodlands. The backstop neuters it a little bit but you could still get hung up back there if you blast a long iron into the hill, and then you’re well and truly fucked.

That green was sick. They need to put the pin on the front right mound one day.

I fucking love the current 18. The green gives you an opportunity that isn’t found on any of the other holes on woodlands, a slope to help you work the ball on.
It’s great
