If you just want to stay with my in-laws that first weekend, I’ll bunk with these wonderful people.

Hey Folks… very excited to come on up there from the Bay Area. Really appreciate everything the group is doing, especially the leadership @MrVinegar206 and others. Been looking at the Championship Experience for years now, going to be cool to do it for the fist time with all of you. 36 Chambers of Shaolin here we go.

Is that Jordan jedi mind tricking DJ into that 3 putt?

I had a 4 putt last night so I’ve got some work to do if I want to pay true homage to DJ’s 72nd hole performance.

Meanwhile the local boys are grinding non-stop on Gold Mountain and the Home Course. Chambers is the Trojan horse.

Lot of smoke and mirrors surrounding GM and HC…am I scared? I am so goddamn ready to be eviscerated, I could scream. One of you locals should do quick hits on both though.

All 3 have hosted USGA championships. They were picked cause they certainly aren’t pushovers haha

Us locals play GM Olympic/Cascade and THC a LOT regardless of if out of towners coming in to get their butts kicked

Hey guise. Change in plans for the stay portion of the stay and play.

Here’s what has happened the last week: The Hotel Murano is not reopening until July 1st because of COVID, so there is no stay and play package available. I want to make clear that the play portion is still booked and unaffected. The group coordinator at Chambers was actually the first one to inform me. He wanted to make sure that it was okay that you all paid at each course, and I said yes since it’s what everyone else was doing anyway.

Hotel Murano apologized a bunch and passed me onto a contact at the Marriott. Hotel Murano has been doing this stay and play package for almost a decade, so this Marriott has never really dealt with a “golf group.” The Marriott sent me a group contract that was clearly not meant for our type of group. My lawyer dad read through it and said I should absolutely not sign it.

So, unfortunately, I can no longer help you guise for your stay. I am very, very sorry. This would’ve been a lot smoother if we weren’t in COVID times.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. If you do want to stay at the Courtyard Marriott, you’ll need to call yourself (of course, you are more than welcome to still do a double room with your roommate). They are offering very similar rates to what would’ve been in the stay and play at Hotel Murano. Or, you can pick another hotel of your choice, obviously.

  2. As I stated, the play portion is mostly unaffected. Instead of paying all together in the stay and play, you will have to pay at each course, each day like the rest of us.

Again, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t work this out for you guise. I hope booking rooms goes smoothly, and I’ll see you in May!

Cheers,
Matt

P.S. Some hotel options I can recommend:

  • Elks Temple Hotel - McMenamins
  • Courtyard Marriott Tacoma Downtown
  • Marriott Tacoma Downtown

Just for reference, how much is it for the golf (think I’m playing Chambers twice).

The golf package everyone still gets is $295 + tax.

$155 + tax for Chambers on Saturday.
$74 + tax for The Home Course on Friday.
$66 + tax for Gold Mountain (Olympic) on Sunday.

This includes the replay at Chambers and the possibility of replay at the other two, too, based on availability.

Sometimes things are out of your control. Well reasoned and everyone has plenty of time to figure their stuff out. Thanks for all of your hard work man!

No worries. Is the Marriott the closest/best hotel to stay at?
