Ollie the Orca is running the OP back at Chambers Bay!

DATES AND TIMES:

  • April 25th: Tee times about 10:30-2:30

  • April 26th: Tee times about 9:20-1:20

  • Tee times can be “picked” in the sign-up sheet for Saturday, but Sunday tee times will be based on standings (unless you have a valid excuse like trying to leave Sunday and need an early tee time).

COST:

  • For most of the players: $375 (includes both rounds + taxes and fees + charity contribution)

  • For the few Chambers Members in our Roost: $330 (includes both rounds + taxes and fees + charity contribution)

  • You can Venmo @ Matthew-Essig. The profile picture is the same as on here. Last 4 digits are 9234. If you’re Canadian, DM me.

  • Caddies are optional. If you’d like one, it is on you to book them. Range balls are included in the greens fee. Chambers is a walking only facility, so there are no riding carts available.

  • The charitable contributions will go towards the NLU Named Endowed Scholarship with ESF

FORMAT:

  • The format will be the combined score of two rounds of American Quota again. American Quota is Quota but with a -1 value for scores of triple bogey or worse.

  • Handicaps will be set at 95%, as the USGA suggests for stableford events.

FLIGHTS

There will be 2 flights. These flights will be locked in Monday, April 20th:

  • Sockeye Flight (Low Cap Flight): You must be a 9.9 or better handicap on the flight lock date and pick a tee set that is the Sand tees or farther back.

  • Coho Flight (Free Tee Choice Flight): Anyone can sign up for it and pick any tee they would like to play

NIT INVITES

"The Nest Invitational Tournament is No Laying Up’s season-ending Invitational. It will be at Dobson Ranch in Mesa, AZ from November 5th-7th. Players have an opportunity to compete at a number of events throughout the year to qualify for 1 of 96 spots at the NIT."

The winners of both flights will earn an invite to the NIT so long as

  • They are a member of the Nest
  • 21 years old or older

SIGN-UPS

  • There will be 80 spots in the field.

  • The sign-up sheet will open at 5pm PT on Monday, January 26th for PNW Crew members.

  • It will open to all 48 hours later at 5pm PT, 8pm ET on Wednesday, January 28th

SPOT HOLDS

  • Payment is due in full to keep your spot on the sign-up sheet. You will have 2 weeks from the initial sign-ups to pay. If you fail to pay, you will be moved to the end of the waitlist.

  • Anyone added from the waitlist will have 1 week to pay. If you fail to pay, you will be moved to the end of the waitlist.

  • If you drop out any time after March 22nd, your money is NOT guaranteed back. I will do my best to get your money back, but someone would need to fill your position in the field and essentially pay for your spot to get your money back.

See y’all soon!

My little brother from college is getting married that Saturday and I’m blocked out on PTO that Friday. This is pain.

Devastated I can’t be there. Unless someone can break up the marriage of my friends Dave and Kourtney. In which case: a) I’ll be there, and b) I’ll pay for your entry fee.

I have a client and our secondary office in Tacoma… need to see if I can push up my spring/summer visit to them and make this happen.

Planned on scheduling a solo adventure to Chambers on said visit and this would be SO much better!

I second that emotion. I’ve been wanting to get out to Chambers Bay from out here in Denver for forever and a day. It’s so great to now have this opportunity to play with fellow Nesters. Looking forward.

All I’m saying is people are too quick to say I can’t come to the golf event before considering all their options
