@Racole212, @tanderson, and @CinderellaStory - I hope you guys know that I failed to get out of the pod play last year by a single point. I won’t be making that mistake this year. All or nothing for me! Looking forward to hitting the links with you guis!
This isn’t a bad idea. Maybe via a google form so that we can pass that info out to just the pod members associated. I just don’t like the idea of 64 phone numbers just sitting out there to be snagged.
Caps should always be compared at the time of the match on the first tee or just before. So, if you get off to a slow start this year it’ll go back up. But dear god, please don’t sandbag.
To be clear, I am not cap sensitive at all. I play with my dad often…he would be like a 40, if he cared enough to keep track. I play with a few good friends who are 20’s on their best day. To me, it is all the same. Just the pressure of never getting strokes will probably be something I definitely will not deal well with. But if nothing else, I will play golf 3 more times than I normally would this spring.
How do we want our pod to be able to get ahold of one another? Also, I am the guy in the Dayton area, but moving to Columbus this month so that should make some travel (outside of Findlay) pretty easy.
Setup a private message with all 4 people in the pod now so you can get a general idea when people are able to play and if they are members of clubs or where they want to play. Also exchange phone numbers.
Oh yeah I wasn’t trying to throw any shade your way. Just always feel uneasy being the dude getting a lot of strokes or whatever, and then playing well enough to look suspect. For me, my index gets inflated because I will have 4-5 absolute disaster holes a round, and then usually play pretty normal mid/mid-high cap golf the rest of the round, so match play and quota game suit me really well
Yeah, y’all are gonna be in for it. My wife just delivered our first baby on Friday and I’m coming into this match play with a full dose of perspective, so if you want to forfeit now, be my guest.
Absolutely looking forward to it. Horse tracks are where I thrive. It’s the fancy tracks with big expectations that melt me like a candy bar in the sun.
A part of me is disappointed to not run it back with @smithburger, @Moomba, and @golf4miami! I’m sure they had a good sigh of relief this year, or, as some are saying, colluded to get me out of their pod (we may never know). Funny accusations aside, hoping for us to get out of our pods and meet again in the match play!
