It’s hoodies and real necklaces now. My 15 year old son sacrificed a couple of Nike hoodies this year and was damn lucky he got both of his necklaces back, including one his grandparents purchased for him for his confirmation. I shudder to think what my wife would have done if that thing didn’t get returned.

back in my day (pre-Phiten bracelet days, but barely) it was hats. Once a girl took your hat, y’all were basically married and the hat was hers.

If a girl took your hat when it “belonged” to some other girl was when the fun really started…

I lost my 6th grade state final baseball hoodie when I gave it to a girl who made me promise to “not break up with her before her birthday.” So I broke up with her on her birthday… Still regret that to this day

Yup. Roughly the high school classes of 07-13. Lol, I was class of 13 and the Phiten stuff was absolutely huge early in high school.

I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t wearing at least 1 sweaty, dirty Phiten necklace. Those things made appearances in school pics, prom pics, on date nights, etc. I guess that was just a precursor to constantly wearing a sweat stained golf hat just about everywhere I go now.

Before Phitens, there were those stupid rubber bracelets that supposedly balanced you out. I even got suckered into spending $30 at Scheels because the worker faked tipping when he wasn’t wearing the bracelet.
