My concern with Japan after listening to a recent Fried Egg pod, is it seems like the best courses are near impossible to get on, and logistics alone would be very hard to plan with all the luggage and gear (something about having to take trains to courses, not allowed a bunch of luggage etc).

Would absolutely love a Tourist Sauce: Japan. I’d be happy to suggest routes for where to go (it’d even be more than “stay in Tokyo for 2 weeks” even though that is an amazing trip on its own) and translate Japanese:English. Haven’t played any golf there yet, but that is on tap for my next venture out there (

It is hard - not impossible. We took all our suitcases on the Shinkansen’s for our trip in 2017 - and being Japan - there will be services available to move stuff for you (and it will probably end up at your destination before you)
One issue I would foresee is where the courses are - compared to where you want to stay - example where the Olympic golf was held vs wanting to stay somewhere like Shinjuku for the hotels / nightlife - its not exactly next door
