NLU Peloton Thread - Weekly Ride: 30 minute 2010’s Hip Hop Ride with Ally from 7/25/24

Sam is my go-to next to Denis. Just chill, usually has a good playlist, and doesn’t really get into woo-related territory. I also end up working much harder than I expect due to his relaxed demeanor.

I actually like Bradley, he has a cool voice. His dancing is super annoying, but I don’t mind his short lil speeches much.

Sam’s Climb Rides always get me to sneaky high outputs without always feeling too beat up at the end. Been saving this one until it got picked from the spreadsheet. Hope it’s as good as other Climb Rides of his. Let’s see some PRs this week, ladies and gentlemen!

I’ve taken one ride with Bradley and almost turned it off. I just couldn’t get behind his vibe at all. I typically stick with rides by Sam, Ben, and a heavy dose of Alex. I’m also a huge fan of hip hop/rap to workout to, so that probably influences leaning towards Alex’s rides.

If you’re like me and some days you come home from work and can’t kick ass, but need a ride—-this will do fine. More strenuous than a LI or Advanced Beginner, but not a screamer.

Holy badges dude

Cheesed out a PB. The last section is brutal if you don’t cheat.

It’s definitely gonna please the Pokemon crowd.

Ride was helped immensely by the fact that it was Tragically Hip ride–one of, if not the only, Canadian rock band I will label as “good.”

Just took Leanne’s latest 30 minute Punk ride. Absolutely awesome to ride to The Jam, The Ramones and Buzzcocks even if she states that she got into this music because her dad played it all the time.

I am sooooo old.

She hinted that The Clash may be coming soon (or said once they do that would be the only way she’d improve on this set list). A Clash Peloton ride would be so good!

New to this thread but 2+ year Peloton owner. This was the first Sam Yo ride I’ve ever done, and I dug it. He’s chill and not as shouty as a lot of the other instructors.

Excited to do the Sam workout later this week. Enjoyed another Ben ride paired with an AFO Thomas Rhett stretch with Matt. The best duo, IMO.

Question for the group: When I go out of the saddle, my foot clamps make a crackling noise as I peddle down. Are the pedals not tight enough, causing the noise? The snap mechanism on the shoes? Something else?

First thing I’d do is tighten the clips on the bottom of your shoes. That usually does it for me.

^this

I have to tighten mine a couple times a year

I’ve tightened mine a time or two since my bike arrived in May. Might just be the way I am standing up from the saddle + my weight (250).

My first 30 min ride. Was hoping to keep my avg output over 200 but couldn’t do it. Felt good though.

If they are new, they’ll get out of whack easier—-takes less to keep them tight as ti e passes.

Kinda of like getting new forged blades…

Ugh wilpers music

This gave me quite a chuckle this morning

What blows my mind is at least the 60minute rides have music that’s all suggested by folks. Like…really? Nobody is suggesting music that’s tolerable? Everyone wants Linkin Park and weird pop songs?

Great ride this week. Destroyed my PR and had a great time doing it. Sam is one of my favorite instructors, low key motivation works great for me.

Why do you think I picked the Olivia class instead
