Leanne is fine, and the Beatles are fine. I like some of their songs but I don’t go out of my way to listen to them.
I enjoy Ringo Starr in his old age now that’s grumpy and generally quite entertaining with the whole “Peace and Love” thing - the video he put out a few years back about no longer signing fan mail because he was too busy was brilliant. I can listen to Paul McCartney but I can’t look at him - looks too much like my “mother” and I’m not exactly a fan of hers either.
I’m a Beatles fan. I enjoyed Leanne’s Beatles ride. But I thought Dennis Morton’s 45-minute Beatles ride was definitely the better one, particularly with the choice of later Beatles music.
I’ve never been a “spinner” so I’d like to know I enjoy it before I go drop the cash (even if its financed- lol) on a Peloton. Plus there is the wait time to get it. It might be golf season by the time it gets here! Should I go buy the $385 bike they have at Costco and use the Peloton app to see if I like it enough to do the Peloton? Just take advantage of the 30 day Peloton guarantee?
Also, does Peloton have an Amazon Firestick app to pull it up on my television if I’m using the app before I get the bike?
Yes they do
Coaches are very personal, if you scroll through this (understandably long) thread, there is a lot of different choices. I’d recommend doing the Program (which is on the app) of “Mastering the Basics” as it introduces you to new courses in a slow, methodical way that is great especially if you aren’t a cyclist already.
That’s awesome, thanks. I saw a few coach recommendations but wasn’t sure if the roster was constantly shuffling or if they were pretty consistent. There is so much content and so many potential combinations it’s a bit overwhelming.
Listen, fer sure.
The nice thing about that program is they rotate a bunch of different instructors in there, so you’ll also get a feel early on for ones you like and ones you aren’t as keen on.
Also a Roku app.
As for set ups, mine is on a landing upstairs and will likely stay there for a few years until we convert the attic. I didn’t want to hang shelves, so I made use of an IKEA unit (mmmm, lingonberry juice) and added some hooks and towel hangers (for our shoes).
Currently rocking a Schwinn Bike and the Peloton App but wife thinks it might be time to upgrade to the Bike+ – anyone have any feedback on the Bike+ over the regular Bike? Also might be looking for a code to offset the accessories, I think they still do that…
Code: 4M2UBW
The bike+ has a swivel monitor. That’s the big change.
the wife didn’t find it worthwhile to get the bike+, and was actually advised against it in the store.
Anyone try any of the aftermarket swivels? I’m tempted because it would make bootcamps a little easier.
Nothing about my current physical state should have allowed this. First time over 300 and 10 miles in 2021. Very pleased with myself.
Thats well over 300! Congrats
Did the FTP test with Olivia last night. That was tough. Any comments on power zone stuff I’ll be diving into?
Take advantage of the 4 week program that they have setup on the bike. It’s a great way to learn technique / see improvement quickly.
I started a couple weeks back and have really been enjoying to power zone training. Feels more tailored and purposeful than the usual music focused rides. Also makes it easier for me to not max out every ride which helps for recovery.
day 4, and this time I was struggling a bit to keep up, you guys win. interested to see what it’s like when my shoes get here tomorrow.
did get over 300 output…we’ll see how much longer I can keep bumping it up with each ride.
The fact that you are even doing rides without clipping into the pedals is an accomplishment in itself. Don’t even know how I would go about that.
cadences above 90 I have a hard time with.
