NLU Bandon 2022: Happy Anniversary

Forecaddie is a great option.

The biggest reason to take a caddie, imo, is so that you can just enjoy the walk and look up/around to be really in the moment while you’re there.

Sounds cheesy, but carrying just makes you look down too damn much, and the Rikshas are more trouble than they’re worth imo.

With those that have used caddies before, do they take other forms of payment besides cash?

Are you asking if caddies vibe?

:joy: venmo, paypal, credit card, etc. lol

after further research, looks like they have caddie cash at the pro-shop for those who don’t walk around with straight cash. Shout out Randy Moss

When you check-in for your tee time, you have the option to charge the green fee to the room. You can also get “caddie cash”, which can be charged to your room as well. Basically, a free ATM charged to your credit card. For example, I would sign off for the green fee and get $150 cash. If my caddie did well, I gave him all $150. If he was trash, i paid $120. That seemed like a fair rate for a full caddie.

Forecaddies are a lot cheaper…usually $30 to $50 depending on how many people he/she covers.

@Dex_G is spot on with this assessment of the situation. Caddy cash is a great benefit and his amounts are good guiding light.

Given how busy Bandon is, I don’t know if forecaddies will be available. This past year they were scrambling to fill just regular caddie requests. And I believe caddies prefer double bagging instead of forecaddieing.

Caddy cash from the pro shop is great, most caddies also take Venmo, PayPal, etc.
When they are as short handed as they are currently it becomes hard to get a forecaddie, or at least a good one. All the best caddies on-site will pretty much only double bag.

I won’t stand for the Riksha slander, I’m all over the map off the tee on bad days and I’ve only felt hindered by mine once or twice.100% worth getting the weight off your back. It adds up once you’re 4 rounds in.

If anyone is looking for a great caddy I would recommend Ethan Devore. I’ve also heard great things about Sara Jo. If you’re gonna get a caddy do what you can to anchor a good one!

FYI for those thinking of using Venmo for tips or even if you’re just regular user, some IRS changes for 2022. More impactful for those receiving it, but thought it was interesting. I’m sure all the caddies will be very legal and abide with all income laws.

Quite the opposite…just telling folks to consider bringing cash so we don’t burden the caddies with having to think about taxes. Plus, there can only be one Narc on these boards.

Booked up. Arriving with a few others on Saturday at 10:30a and leaving Wednesday at 2p.

Definitely willing to carpool/contribute with anyone driving down through Eugene or a rental car leaving from EUG. Van prices are going up!

I’ll have room for at least 2, possibly 3 :call_me_hand:t3:

Speaking of 2022 goals (fresh off the Trap Draw and rewatching the Bandon Tourist Sauce for the millionth time), I’d like to suggest that @MerchCzar adds “avoiding wall plugs left on the floor at Bandon” as a goal.
