I think the trouble is that because this is the internet, it’s difficult to tell where you’re saying it in good fun or being a dick. I didn’t think it was that egregious in a thread where we’re picking a fight out of thin air, but others may disagree.

This place is notoriously soft so you can’t act surprised.
Ever since all of the BMW partnerships, I’ve suspected that the C-Suite hates American automobiles—can the C-Suite claim to be the friend of the American auto worker* during a rising age of automation? Their silence on the subject is deafening.
*please don’t point out that a lot of BMWs are assembled in America I come from a UAW family and know this just let me pick a fight

Yeah, I guess your tone is just hard to pick up on sometimes? It didn’t strike me as that funny and seemed fairly aggressive. I think most of us picked up on the difference between calling someone an asshole in an attempt to start a charity-based golf duel and whatever it was you were trying to say. Hence a few of the other reactions. Honestly, just be a little more careful. A lot of your “jokes” have been falling flat lately.
