What are the thoughts on the Friday round? I’d love to see the refuge take over chandler park too
Quick note on Mrs. Peek:
I’ve only met her once. It was last August. If you have ever played Rackham you know that on occasion there can be pace of play issues…
This particular Sunday afternoon I was walking solo with my push cart. There were 2 groups of 4 in front of me and they were buddies drinking and enjoying their round, albeit a bit slowly. Apparently the 2 groups behind me were under the assumption that I was the hold up. So she rides up as I’m at the the 5 tee box to check. No issues, I explain the situation and told her that I wasn’t in a a hurry and that the groups behind me could play through, but I didn’t think it would make a difference.
She drives up to to groups in front of me to ask them to speed up a bit, and then to the groups behind me to explain things to them. Then she comes back over to me and says sorry for the hold up. We had a conversation and I explain I was OK. The groups in front were a bit slow, but they were having fun and enjoying the game, and that we need more of that. I let her know that the course was looking great and that I appreciated the work they’ve put in.
She rode with me for a few holes and we had a delightful conversation about golf, the state of golf in Detroit, getting kids to play, the potential of the Rack and the gorgeous club house, etc.
I really got a sense of how much she loves the game and how much she wants to see it grow for Detroiters and the youth that normally doesn’t get a chance to experience what we sickos take for granted.
She’s a class act. And that’s why I’m proud to call the Rack home.
Also, American can get fucked. I refuse to even enter the doors of that establishment.
Signed up, have to make sure there’s enough Chicago area representation.
To the lord of white boy rick, I’ll be there!
Still my very favorite thing you’ve made
I will try and make it. Depends on how some of my schedule shakes out with the PGA. Probably will prohibit me from coming but if I don’t end up at Kiawah i will try to make it.
I’m in on this 100%. I want to donate some stuff from my company. Sent JBor a message. This is gonna be awesome. Is showing up in full wrestling attire frowned upon for this? lol
Brother…
Please tell me you’re Vince McMahon.
Shit no. I’m playing in a t-shirt for sure. Collared shirts, be damned.
I’m not sure most people know this, but the origin story of “Welcome to the Terrordome” comes from when I was in high school and everbody would watch Mike Tyson pay-per-view fights. Tyson, the closest thing to a gladiator my generation ever knew, would enter the ring to Public Enemy’s “Welcome to the Terrordome” and terrify a nation.
It was a call to arms.
It was a declaration of impending doom.
It was the kind of shit drunk high school kids would yell in the parking lot of Taco Bell before fights.

Can confirm. It was our walkout music for our basketball team my senior year in high school.
Laser, anesthesia, maze ya
Ways to blaze your brain and train ya…
Our high school also fought at Taco Bell. It was near the border of a few towns so everyone would meet up there if they had beef (or wanted beef tacos).
I think it was the 9th highest grossing taco bell in america at one point.
Beautiful. Public Enemy is a vastly underrated contributor to American art and culture.
“It Takes A Nation of Millions…” may in fact be the second greatest album of all time.
And Welcome to the Terrordome wasn’t even on that album.
If it were up to me every high school student would have to unravel the lyrics of It Takes a Nation of Millions and write an essay before they graduate.
