I don’t even know if it was a Coney Island. I have tried to go to two different Detroit coney places in my life (one in Wyandot and one in Farmington) and both times they were closed for dinner.

Is it like Tony Packos in Toledo? I have had those. I don’t understand them either. Why not just have Skyline Chili’s at all these places instead??

I love Buddy’s and Jets more than Ohio or any other pizza though - so it’s not an Ohio Michigan thing - it’s honest questions

its a hot dog, with chili and cheese.

Not that complicated, nor that wonderful.

Its like Skyline

Good, you get it.

Behold, two coneys from Lafayette Coney Island downtown:

if you’re gonna get a coney then you have to do it right and go downtown to lafayette and get it. it’s a 20 minute uber from royal oak, its worth it. also they do not have cheese it’s chili. mustard. onions.

I am super in on this plan. As soon as we can we should book tee times. We have 51 people who want to play Friday golf so far.

Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% planning on getting some quality Detroit coney island at some point this trip. Where should I go in Royal Oak?

I’m sure theres a Sonic nearby

Honestly we might need to schedule a mini duel friday lol

Drive to Detroit and go to Lafayette.

This many people from Michigan and Ohio, it was bound to devolve into a coney/chili debate eventually… Just be thankful we managed to plan the golf before it did

If staying in Royal Oak, Leo’s Coney Island is right downtown, but the coneys are just ok. Get a chicken tender pita and a saganaki instead.

Plus, Leo’s on a Saturday night is a SCENE.

(alternative: Comet Burger, unless you haul it out to Hunter House)

Leo’s in Downtown Royal Oak is my go-to. Always solid.

This man has been 100% correct on everything.

yeah if @aannddyy00 keeps disrespecting the detroit coney we may have to

If I can find time, I’ll make the pilgrimage to Lafayette.
