Loop The Dunes - A Casual 2025 Golf Stay and Play

Thats a great picture of 9 on Dunes. I wanted to take that one but realized I wanted to after I was moving off the tee, and it seemed like a lot of work!

Had a great time teeing it up with many of you over the weekend and of course I forgot to take very many pictures as is tradition. Thanks again to @Manhattan for setting this all up and kudos to those of you who made the long treks from across the country.

My last parting thought - how the fuck did Sundays Loop round warrant a PCC but not Saturday?

Fuck that finishing hole and all that shit on the right

Also, the water. Its not a good hole to have one bleed short right on…

We played the back tee boxes on Sunday

Was great to meet you and your dad over the weekend. Clearly I played above my punching weight over the weekend, as my handicap dropped just under 3 strokes!! Was awesome playing with and watching you and Matt pump drivers over and over on the loop on Sunday.

I only got in 11 holes on Sunday, so put me down for a MDF on the quota game.

As much as I wanted to be competitive, leaving early gave me exactly the time I needed to grab lunch on the road and make my flight comfortably. A few fewer holes probably helped too since Doak was starting to get to me .

My physical therapist was very pleased with the state of my shoulder, neck, and back this morning. “Your shoulder didn’t clunk this time!” she said.

I’m glad to hear you got at least 11 in - seeing the routing both ways is meaningful to the experience! A pleasure to get the time with you, as always. I look forward to the next one

The experience was elevated for sure. Some of the holes were definitely better in the direction we played Sunday. I’d even break character and walk with the crew next time if I had access to a push cart and a better flight schedule!

These pictures have me itching to go back. Hopefully the event gets run back.

Thankyou @Manhattan for setting up the event at Forest Dunes. While the weather was somewhat of a challenge the courses and fellow players were awesome. I had no idea the distance guys traveled to play in the event? Last point, as one of the dads playing over the weekend, it was FANTASTIC to play with other dad and the young guns. Special thanks to @Howitzer and @lostinspace for bringing you dads. Made my weekend to play with them and meet their “boys”.

Blaming the finishing hole for coming up short against the lefties? I for one, think it was a fine hole and am sure @blackhammer would agree.

Larry, I had an absolute blast!! Such a good match and I hope to run it back sooner rather than later. My dad was nothing but complimentary of y’alls golf together. Maybe we can get a home and away series going.

Mirroring everyone else here, appreciate you @Manhattan for setting this up. Had a great time on all of the rounds and covered the bases on group sizes between two and seven as is tradition #shrinkthegame. Special shoutout to the Loon cabin squad putting up with me watching Northwestern football and @Kbergen28 for letting me passenger princess up and back from Chicago.

Was there any late night chip and putting out to the Dunes?

Too much rain and cold to go back outside as far as I could tell, everyone was very happy to be holed up in warmth

Great experience overall, many thanks again to @Manhattan for arranging everything.

Had a blast playing Red Loop Saturday with @JwG3, @Ultra-Kiger, and @papateeps throwing out one liners - been awhile since I’ve laughed that hard on a golf course

Last call for any updates, posting, changes, etc for your quota scores. Let me or @Manhattan know if UKG isn’t letting you adjust anything. I’m traveling for work tomorrow and will be sending out payouts on Wednesday.
