I’d recommend looking up some of the Amateur Tours that do 1 & 2 day, flighted stroke play events.
Golfweek Am Tour or US Am Tour are pretty much everywhere. The events are flighted by handicap and then played straight up within your flight.
Golfweek Am Tour has triple bogey max in all the flights except the top flight (Champ).
This is a nice way to get into competitive golf while still playing against players of a similar skill level.
