Holy shit this is cool.

The next great fpv drone shot you’re about to see reposted 100 times: Pilot “rosshasadrone” on Instagram chases a golf ball all the way to the green. from r/Damnthatsinteresting

Sounds like you need view camera chat my friend :ok_hand:t2:

I’m in need of some advice.

I was a dummy, and went on a golf trip without realizing my Sony RX 100 V was in the side pocket of my golf bag. When I arrived at my destination, I found that my camera no longer works. Bought new batteries, tried charging it for days with and without batteries, still nothing. Camera looks brand new still, it didn’t get crunched or smashed, but something inside came loose.

Initial quotes from camera repair shops are $350, but that could fluctuate up or down depending on the actual issue. At that point I’d rather just get a completely different camera.

Does anyone have experience with a good reputable repair shop? Should I get it fixed, or just buy something different (a Fuji XT-20 really would suit my needs better) and cut my losses? I bought this for $600 used last year so I don’t want to give up on it already, but also don’t want to pay insane prices for repair.

Had a repair done a few years ago here. Friendly staff and great work.

That sucks man…

But a Fuji XT-20 would be loads more fun than the Sony you have, just go for it

Agreed, the Fuji is much more enticing.

I may do both. Buy the Fuji now for bag product photography, and in the mean time get the Sony fixed and either keep it as a backup or sell.

The Sony is definitely better for Sunday bags like the ones you make. I had to carry my a6400 when I had the TSB, which wasn’t so bad, I just had really high anxiety I was going to leave it laying somewhere lol

I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t get the Fuji… my a6400 is great, just not as fun.

Not gonna lie, I’m totally copying what I saw @DWise do on Instagam. He got a Mac made with a special strap sewed on to hold this Peak Design camera clip. It looks like it will work incredible.

So I’m going to sew one onto my half set bag and would carry the Fuji that way for product pics during rounds. I reallyyyy want the XT-20.

hahaha yep I DM’ed @DWise when I saw that. Such a cool addition to a bag. I will be doing that when I finally get my mackenzie too

In on this, had the clip delivered and it’s a brilliant solution

I lost my grandpa last summer and my grandma has been moved to assisted living. We’re selling their house and my dad found all of their photos from their visits to Augusta in the late 80’s to early 90’s.

It’s been a joy to go through. Literally hundreds of them.

This is my grandpa with a pimento cheese sandwich, of course.

What great memories! Sorry for your loss. Those pictures are really special, especially the last one

Great pictures - thanks for sharing. I’m so used to seeing Freddie in a visor that that picture of him in a hat is bizarro-level strange. That swing though…

Gotta love that my grandma snapped a pic at the top of his back swing. She accidentally had the flash on during Langer’s swing and he walked over and said something to her about it. She never cared for him after that.

Jeez, you’d think that during a practice round they’d be a little more forgiving about it, but I guess not…

Revisited this thread as I was trying to remember where I saw the notes about the DJI Osmo series. Trying to figure out what I might want to buy to help gather photos/short video clips to document my friend’s annual golf trip and casual weekend games. Nothing hardcore, just something for a joint Instagram to capture and remember our rounds together. Anyone have real insight into what might be best for a group wanting casual photos and whatnot and not looking to spend a ton?

Currently working with iPhone 11 and contemplating the DJI Osmo Mobile 3, but curious if someone has any insight to the product or something else.
