He really is an elite trash talker because it’s a nice blend of subtle “You are not rolling it like someone who is three down” and vicious “tell me you want it” and everything in between. Having different quips for different moments oozes cool.

No way. Gotta have at least one guy who is a little over the top in some ways, it livens everything up and adds levity to everything. Plus villains give everyone someone to play off of. If he’s a villain, that is. But he’s actually a great guy. And anyway, it’s an entertainment product.
