I’ll bring a bottle out w Group 2.
@WehrliBird @BigBird @mlgalezio I’ll have some Basil Hayden’s packed if that’s anyone’s speed in the 11:40 group.
(I assume this is the case, but being a first timer, outside alcohol is all good? Want to play the game the right way).
Just to clarify - everyone does not need to be there before the first group goes out, but if I’m scheduled to tee off at 11:30 I should show up well before that in case the collective group is efficient, yes?
Show up early enough that as things move quickly, you are ready to go a little early. I know in the past, we have gone off as the 9am group a little early and there’s not always 10 minutes between times.
Understood - thanks!
Use your best judgement and don’t be a scumbag. That said, there isn’t a bev cart.
Question for Chicago-local peeps:
Figuring out my car situation at the moment, anyone available to car pool from Lincoln Park/Lakeview area?
What it’s worth, our group grabbed stuff at the turn. 10 tee is right next to the clubhouse
I’m in Schaumburg but open to carpooling.
I gotchu. Also grabbing @ChiFFI. Tee times line up nicely as well
Almost by design…
I’m in Lincoln Park and looks like I’m in the group that’s teeing off at 9:30. I’m able to drive and have space for you and a few others if that works.
Edit: Just catching up on the previous posts…looks like rides have been sorted already
Here’s my itinerary.
- Friday 5:30 pm: Drive downtown to Lurie Children’s for 7YO’s sleep study.
- Friday 7:30 pm: Hold screaming 7YO as they try, probably unsuccessfully, to hook up a bunch of electrodes.
- Friday 11:00 pm: Maybe finally fall asleep in uncomfortable chair.
- Saturday 5:00 am: get kicked out of hospital because they have all the data they’re gonna get.
- Saturday 6:00 am: Arrive home. Try to clean all the stuff that they used for the electrodes off the 7YO’s head.
- Saturday 7:15ish am: Leave for Burban.
Should be in great shape!
I would think the sleep study center would allow you to bring a sleeping bag and pillow for the floor of the room. When I did mine, there was plenty of room for someone to sleep on the floor and have the nurses do their check ins. Worth looking into.
This actually sounds worse. On the plus side, I won’t be hung over. At least I probably won’t be hung over. Never know, I guess. I have a flask and the hospital has a vending machine full of mixers.
At our age, being sleep deprived is worse than being hungover.
We look forward to you being awake and well Saturday! On a note as serious as is allowed in a golf event chat for a celebration of life about a horse where whiskey is to be consumed, hope all goes as well and as stress free as possible
Absolutely agree, there’s enough of us that wants to go old school from time to time, it’s a niche market sure but I hope a company starts making throwback balls
