Just played it this morning. La P still has plenty of teeth these days.
La Purisima is one of the most challenging courses anywhere. When it’s in good shape and the wind whips a little, it’s a great test of where your game is at.
A true all course, all skill test.
I’m in the central part of the state for a few weeks staying in hanford but able to make the drive to Pismo, Morro or other locations if ya’ll want to try to get out for some golf. Just let me know.
Hello Central Coast! I’m living in Lompoc for about a month+ for harvest. While I won’t have a ton of time, I usually take Sundays off and would love to get a few rounds in with fellow golf degens. I’ve played most of the good courses in the area and am willing to drive upwards of two hours to get a game going. Anyone interested?
In December, I’ll be moving down full time to SLO and would love to help out and be part of the local Roost if it has gotten off the ground.
I have some clients in Paso Robles. Anyone ever play Hunter Ranch? It looks decent from the highway, but curious of people’s opinions that have played it. Price seems a touch steep.
Yo, unfortunately we never found enough bodies for a roost. I live just south of slo and I tend to drive both north and south for events. We actually have an event happening locally in November. Northern California and Southern California are facing off at cypress ridge on November 11th
@Forty Hunter is a super cool course. I haven’t played there for a couple years so I don’t know what kind of shape the course is in. The prices have got pretty out of control lately though. It’s definitely one of the nicer options in town but 100+ for a round is a little egregious.
Right on. Well if you feel like there is ever more interest, count me in.
I won’t be able to make the 11/11 event…gotta start packing the house for the SLO move. But you’re right, Cypress would be a great matchplay course. 16 is nuts! Does anyone ever walk that course?
If you’re ever free on weekends for the next month, would be down to get a round in together.
I usually walk it and it ends up being somewhere around 7.5 miles. Not really worth it since you end up hiking through the neighborhoods between holes. My weekends are being dominated by kids soccer right now but some of the guys from down south were talking about trying to play La Purisima on a Sunday morning soon. I’ll definitely keep you posted on that one.
Northern California and Southern California are facing off in our neck of the woods at cypress ridge on November 11th. If anyone wants to play let me know.
I’d like to join for 11/11!
I emailed you the sign up sheet, let me know if you have any issues with it.
Just released our LowCal 2026 Roost Club Championship and Match Play signups. I know some events can be a trek for central coast guys, but we’d love to have everyone join and grow our Ventura-SLO crew!

We also do a lot of rambling on slack, feel free to DM me if you’d like to be added to our Slack channel!
Hiiii. Totally a trek but meeting halfway for events in Santa Barbara or La P would be sick.
Might try and get some guys together for La P soon!
