Two spots are still available if someone is up for some bird hunting… @SecondCityGC, @SupperClub @FreshCoastFlock , @Crossroads_CoOp
I’m no @Gottliebk12, but will try to give you a glimpse of Belmont… @SecondCityGC
Stroke play, we will alternate Blue tees (tips) and Gold (fronts), starting with Hole 1 from the blues, then Hole 2 from the golds, etc… everyone will have a chance to drive some greens and get some birds…
Hole 1 (Blue tees) - it is beautiful hole…you don’t expect to see this kind elevation change pulling up in the parking lot. This is not a gentle handshake…Belmont is metal and this is a punch in the face, as it is the number 1 handicapped hole. The green is sloped left to right and back to front.
Hole 2 (Gold tees) - everyone should be able to carry the creek, but natural birdies will still be hard to come by.
Hole 3 (Blue tees) - this is my favorite hole…definitely reachable, and two good shots and you’ll be mad at a par, but miss the fairway and par would be best you can hope for.
Hole 4 (Gold tees) - your first opportunity to drive the green…
Hole 5 (Blue tees) - anything on the fairway is a short iron on the green. Leave the driver in the bag for the second loop.
Hole 6 (Gold tees) - the hole is right in front of you.
Hole 7 (Blue tees) - supposedly the only CB Mac hole left almost untouched. Shallow green that is severely sloped back to front. Please don’t hit it in the pool.
Hole 8 (Gold tees) - don’t miss way left, and if you don’t go searching for it. Ask @Setwilli for details.
Hole 9 (Blue tees) - asked that they let us play the old tee box by the range (let’s see) - it is a proper par 5 from there. Tee shot has to split the uprights (large trees) and carry a lot of water - let’s institute a drop zone (yellow) and keep up the pace of play. Please don’t send any balls into the clubhouse/patio left of the green.
Hole 1 (Gold tees) - you’ve seen it already, go get your par.
Hole 2 (Blue tees) - this will be the most difficult par for the day. Water in play left, right and long.
Hole 3 (Gold tees) - go get your birdie.
Hole 4 (Blue tees) - the hole is actually difficult from here. Favor a right miss off the tee.
Hole 5 (Gold tees) - let the big dog eat, but don’t miss left.
Hole 6 (Blue tees) - let’s test those long irons.
Hole 7 (Gold tees) - the pool should not be in play from here.
Hole 8 (Blue tees) - hopefully we play the elevated tee box. The prettiest shot on the course.
Hole 9 (Gold tees) - big birds in play. The clubhouse should be safe with wedges in hand.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just do first go around blue, 2nd go around gold, or vice versa? Alternating tees seems like it would get confusing and easy to screw up.
I think it’s nice to brake it up, and it’s not that confusing. I’ll try to have the cards
Marked up as cleanly as possible.
As a public service to those with decent eyesight I’d to share that all “blue tees” are marked with Black painted tee markers at Belmont Golf Club.
@Xlink love the alternate tee format - will be fun!
Unfortunately we can’t play the old tee on #9. Apparently it floods there and they can’t mow it. Maybe next year.
The cards will say black tees…no one will be confused.
Good morning fellow hitters. Live from Belmont, I want to report that the course is dialed and we are in for a perfect day for competition. The range is grass and there are no excuses…LFG

Can someone do this but with the 2Nines trophy please and thank you
And Belmont 7th green.
I like that @Gibbler has his upside down
Second shooter on the grassy knoll. There were a couple shots fired at the clubhouse as we were apres-golfing. Unclear whether this was from a previous incident. It wasn’t us!
Haha yeh I’m an idiot… I mean with the dead bird on the trophy I couldn’t figure out what was up.
@Gibbler i hope you are not protesting something
Only the fact that Belmont wouldn’t let us use the alternate tee box on 9…
Thank you all for a great event - I could not have asked for a better field or better weather (yes, this is a dis towards anyone that didn’t participate…if you did not make an attempt to at least play 9, shake some hands, kiss some babies and dip out like @Kerry, then we don’t want you). Jkjkjk
Belmont is Metal, and unlike Valhalla, it identified a deserving champion in @Gibbler who swept both categories [Low Gross (69) & Low Less Gross (63)] and claimed the Ope spot for @SecondCityGC. I could not (did not want to) give @Gibbler both of the wonderful trophies made by @flanwilder and the Low Less Gross went to a Monday qualifier (last min fill in) @golfscout [a Low Less Less Gross (71)].
We raised $298 for charity (26 golfers at $25 minus the pizza cost of $352). I would like to donate it towards @PTM ‘s muddy softball field. The @SupperClub sent one of their best to represent them in the event (@schmonkey is metal af). I’m not going to shout out everybody - I appreciate everyone that came out and I loved hanging out after, having pizza, beer and watching the end of the PGA Championship.
Looking forward to the Summit.
