ABandoned Dudes Classic @ Cabot Citrus Farms (Brooksville, FL) May 17 2025

I’m actually flying in Weds and out Tuesday. Trying to put together a round with a guy from work at Lake Nona, not sure when yet, but please keep me posted for pre/post SS round options. Have a car, can be a mule a bit…

If you are looking for a course to play in the Tampa area about 30 minutes south is Club Renaissance in Sun City Center. It’s one of the few public courses that rates did not balloon this year and it’s always in great shape (especially this time of year). Honorable mention goes to Bloomingdale Golf Club (Brandon FL - 20 mins east of Tampa), slow pace of play but very interesting golf holes in fair shape.

That’s right by where I plan on staying so that will work out perfectly. Looks like the winner for Thurs golf. Thanks for the recommendation!

Late in response here but there is a lot of traffic and construction stuff between Streamsong and MCO which leaves your travel back to the airport a bit uneasy. I mean, you drive directly through the Disney complex.

TPA is the more more reliable choice if cost is the same.

I was at Streamsong back in November, so relatively recent intel.

Brand new Refuge signee! I clicked on the links to sign up, I know there is a wait list, is there anything else I need to do get a spot on the WL? I live only 45 minutes away from SS and thought why not?

For those looking to play in Tampa on Thursday - my brother is closing on his new house in Lakewood Ranch today. He will be on the 18 fairway of Lakewood National - Piper Course, with the Commander Course nearby. Piper was #4 on the Golf Pass Golfer’s Choice list this year, Commander was #1 (for what that’s worth).

Once he gets settled, we is going to inquire about getting me (and by extension, us), a discounted rate to play there if we like. I am hoping for a decent unaccompanied guest rate.

I am staying at his place for this trip, and while I can’t offer lodging to a group, I would have no issues holding post round drinks on his new screened patio / outdoor kitchen.

I will update as we get closer.

Nothing needed for the waitlist, just sign up!

Have you joined the FL Roost yet?

I just put my info in the doc for the Splash of OJ Roost. Do I need to put my info into the sheet for Streamsong or does a moderator only have access to the spreadsheet. If I can put my info in I’ll take the 4th alt spot in a heartbeat and add my info!

Anyone can edit that doc feel free to signup.

Just a heads up there is no driving range on site. The driving range is located at the sister course Sandpiper about 2 minutes up the road. You have to drive by it to get to Renaissance.

PS don’t do the hole in 1 challenge, from the tips its 190ish into the wind and the pin is usually placed near the ridge that bisects the green.

I can confirm that at Club Renaissance, the greens have firmed up tremendously and are QUICK! I played on greenskeeper revenge day yesterday and man the course is in great shape. Hopefully it keeps its form for you!

Having never been there are reservations required to eat? Is that what you’re saying? Is there a walk up bar option?

Yes, both the Blue/Red & Black Clubhouses have walk up bar seating. They also have a few restaurants as well where reservations are strongly suggested simply due to the occupancy of the lodge per the sales manager I am working with.

Anyone who has been, what restaurant at Streamsong should I not miss? I’ll probably just do a bar option one night but wouldn’t mind having a nice dinner one of the nights.

I really enjoyed the Black Course’s restaurant. I ordered and received a perfect NY strip and they did a great job with the wine pairing to boot. No experience at the Red/Blue joint so I’ll let others attest to that one.

I’ve eaten at Restaurant Fifty-Nine at Red/Blue several times and it’s great. Typical american bar fare, everything I’ve ordered has been solid. Breakfast included.

I’m up for a nice dinner one night and the Fifty-Nine menu looks good to me.

I’m interested in dinner at least one of the two nights at one of the restaurants. Should we add a signup sheet for restaurants and get some reservations on the books in the next week?
