updated the sheet to show me bunking with @JShades33
I’ve only played Red and we had two excellent caddies (Salter was ours; forget the name of the other guy - Tyler or something like that). Both were mini-tour guys so they were adept at reading putts, adjusting for wind, etc. and I think that was the greatest benefit on Red; the course itself is largely right in front of you (some visual deception, but not tons) so you could hack your way around it and do fine. But it was their understanding of the nuance of the greens/surrounds, prevailing winds, etc. that was the greatest benefit. I’d say Salter saved me 2-3 strokes; whether or not that’s worth the cash is up to you.
The real concern I have re: caddies for this shindig is weather-dependent. I was told to expect temps around 100 w/ lots of humidity. Would prefer not to lug my own bag around since I plan to walk (though SS does strategically place carts on the sides of tee/fairway areas in a few places for the folks who decide to carry, make it 5 holes and abandon that strategy).
100 in late April??? Sheesh. I looked it up recently and average highs are in the low 80’s for that time of year but could certainly catch a heater per se. I really hope it’s not that bad…this is my Masters not my PGA at Bellerive in August
Both caddies were adamant that it would be close to 100 at that time (didn’t believe them so I pushed them on it). I hope for everyone’s sake, but especially mine as a fair-skinned Canadian export w/ Northern European ancestry, that they’re wrong.
I don’t think it’ll be over 90° in late April/May. Humidity will certainly be there though so it might feel like 100°
Feels like 100 possibly but I agree, feels like 90s would be more likely for the high, and then it just depends on cloud/wind conditions.
Don’t forget people, UV rays go through clouds and are amplified so you always need to wear some sunscreen no matter what!
Thankfully they stock water all over the course and have rangers riding around with water the entire time. Or at least that was the case during my feels-like-80-something post-Xmas round.
This is a good point. Caddies it is.
Could someone add a caddy tab to the signup list, also drop your GHIN on the sheet to that column.
Thanks guys!
Tab added.
Thanks man!
If the caddies want to double bag how does that work with the groupings? I imagine we are trying to do some moving around tee groupings as such. I guess all this is to say. I’m down to have a caddy but also don’t need one. Would be willing to pay/use if it’s a double bag situation but doubt I’ll get the same caddy everytime and that is ok with me.
Same for me; if people I play with want one I’ll do it, but I’m ok carrying or going PCM style.
Totally agree. I just played there in October and having a caddie saved me 4-5 shots EASY. Plus the added bonus of not having to carry your own bag.
So we’ve got 3 on the wait list, going to reach out to Streamsong Monday to see if we can increase the field to 52. More discussion coming up this week about dining options.
Dining should be easy. We can always just DoorDash something.
Are we allowed to bring grills
Working on booking flights - whats the carpool situation looking like from Orlando on Friday morning and Sunday afternoon?
I can get you to Streamsong, but not back.
Reminder for anyone coming in on Friday (flying or driving) our first tee time starts at 11:23a on the Black with the last group going off at 1:33p
