So sad about Durbin leaving our Crew. Absolute glue guy, great locker room guy, lots of intangibles. He was the ultimate scrapper and really fit what I thought was the forward-looking Brewer culture of “can play baseball but would also be the first guy you want in a bar fight”. Major bummer.
Also spot on re: Minor League baseball being the “ultimate pastime”. Took my oldest son to a Lancaster Stormers game when he was four and we were up in Pennsylvania to see Thomas the Train. Over the years, been to Lambeau with him multiple times, obviously Miller Park, a few NY Giants games, he went to Spring Training in Florida and hung with Wade Boggs, every conceivable big UVA sporting event…. and to this day he still talks about the Minor League game as one of his favorite things we’ve ever done.
