There have been countless arguments about golf and golfers on the pod that were more heated than that exchange. I was expecting a little brouhaha and it was next to nothing.
My wife is a Kings graduate and grew up practically a stones throw away from the park. She was pumped when the boys gave it a shoutout.
No way Alex has a big enough lead over Scottie and all the other guys right behind him to survive this weekend.
Not sure if this post is for here or publishing house, but Geoffās Quadrilateral newsletter this morning was gross to me. Pretty strong trust the police report vibes, cites a link saying thereās surveillance footage to a link that does not say that, and then says while Scottie has a clean record off the course he has a dirty one on it with questionable rulings and a win at all costs mantra. Just the shittiest of takes. Heās had a few of these newsletters that have made me debate unsubscribing.
Loved hearing my guy Ben Polland get a shoutout on the live show. Had a few years with him in Campbells PGM program, really great guy. On the cut line with two holes to play this morning
Very weird piece by Shackelford. Mentions a link to surveillance video from a Louisville NBC affiliate but the link takes to to Dallas-Fort Worth NBC affiliate that mentions nothing of a surveillance video.
Makes light of the fact that several other players have said they were told by officers to go east on the westbound lane to get past the chaos.
Makes light of the fact that tournament organizers have a single entrance for players, media, workers, fans and caddies. Giant tour busses and courtesy cars trying to navigate thousands of people on foot.
And we wonder why more and more people would rather play golf than read about it.
A small world. Mine too.
I agree. Shackelfordās piece this morning was so bizarre. I usually enjoy his daily major recaps, but sometimes he takes himself a bit seriously and is a contrarian.
I get the point that a guy died and it was unfortunate that it was overshadowed by the bizarre events yesterday morning. But his innuendo that Scottie is a bad-actor who was covered for by the media is just contrarian non-sense.
To suggest that it may have been appropriate to arrest Scottie for FELONY ASSAULT OF A POLICE OFFICER, (which would require criminal intent to assault a police officer with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument) is beyond the pale.
My prediction, the charges are dropped before the end of the weekend.
He also blatantly ignored any of Darlingtonās eye witness account that blatantly contradicts what is in the police report. Iām fine with the opinion that perhaps we jumped to Scottieās defense too quickly, but I (and I suspect a good percentage of this group) did so because of Darlingtonās account.
The spider x is the best putter on the market. Itās the Indian not the arrow with Rory.
Shackelfordās disdain for 99% of the golfing community and humanity in general is always simmering just beneath the surface. He covers it up decently and it comes off as wryness and likeable grumpiness (with occasional drifts into pure cynicism) . But when he gets an opportunity like this to go full high horse he relishes the opportunity to call us all disgusting.
I double took when I saw your avatar. Looks like my dog.
Iām seriously considering getting one.
Cockapoo?
Split tees and threesomes today due to the fog delay the end of the second round.
You should. Iām not even playing. Itās an incredible putter.
