It’s a very fun course to watch the pros play. I wouldn’t say I would want to see the pros play it every week, but what I think makes it great is that it’s completely different than the courses we see week to week.
I think one of the most important things four a Tour venue is that it’s unique and looks and/or plays differently than other Tour venues. In my mind, that makes it memorable for fans and gives the Tournament an identity and builds equity.
Not to pick on the Travelers but TPC River Highlands looks like 5-10 different courses they play on Tour. I’ve been watching professional golf pretty religiously for 25 years and if you asked me to describe TPC River Highlands, I would struggle. Once I watch the event, there are a few holes I remember but in a month I’ll completely forget again.
LPGA’s website hasn’t refreshed the leaderboard in a minute - still showing Charley at -4 and LC thru 15 - no idea what’s going on aside from the leaders
It’s always cool to see pro golfers out in the wild. Once they’re away from the course they become relatively anonymous. I had a couple guys run out to cross the street last night right after I got a green light. I was about to yell out the window at them when I realized it was Ernie Els and Mike Weir. I was so shocked I forgot what was happening for a moment
Maybe it’s just me because I’m doing other stuff while watching, but it feels like they’re playing SO slow today. Like, even slower than normal, which is already painfully slow
