2024 Nest Invitational Tournament | October 24-26, 2024 | Leaderboard @ Post 1133

Incredible. Put so many faces and handshakes to Refuge handles. Seeing folks again from all over who I very much look forward to chatting with at NLU and Roost events.

@Privatecollection and @GremlinGolfer and the entire crew hustling their asses off to make this thing go, just amazing. Thank you!

As we all get older I am acutely aware of how important these disruptive (in all the right way) events are to filling the tank back up. It’s so rare to turn off the day-to-day world and get lost in the sauce.

And a special shoutout to local @chearnen13 who opened his garage door, handed his push cart to a total stranger and saved a life this weekend.

Pantera Ave Crew: Go Mustangs.

I will echo many of the same sentiments as others and say what a blast I had. The golf was great but the hang was as good as it gets. It was great to see old friends and meet some new ones as well. Thank you to @Privatecollection and everyone who helped make this event happen!

Sitting in Pair Cupworks thanks to @wiz recommendation. Thank you again for lending a push cart for me to use this weekend.

Still a little disappointed that I gave up 36 hole lead to not have a chance to repeat, but golf happens. Was great to follow the finals, but I’m ready to come back next year and play in the finals.

Thank you again @Privatecollection for the great organizing work that you did. Looking forward to an even better NIT in 2025.

The hang before NIT where I played Dobson with Dry Heat members, to the rounds with @duncmitchell and @Manhattan, and the rounds during the NIT were all massive fun. This reinforces try feelings that there are no bad hangs in The Refuge.

Great to catch up with people who I met in past, and just as great to meet members that I have not met before. Makes me want to show up to other majors to hang out with y’all more, and will need to figure out how to make that happen.

Lastly, @carrybagswag does not have anywhere the bite in person as he has on The Refuge.

In typical male fashion, I took about zero photos.

However, maybe my favorite photo of all of the NLU events I have played in: a handful of us huddled around my phone to watch the final innings of Game 1 of the World Series. This is going to be a core memory for me for a long time.

Turns out, home game models weren’t THAT strong, but man I love that place so much. I hope everyone enjoyed the vibe at Dobby, just imagine some of those slopes in prime summer conditions.

Thank you to everyone who had kind words on my handful of cameos in NLU content, you fellow golf sickos are so fun to hang with.

Thank you thank you thank you @privatecollection & co!

Probably just processing how impressed you were by the magician

This is probably quite accurate. He really brought out the child like wonder in a lot of us. Witnessing @MerchCzar excitement levels last night was equally fun.

My hitter leans into the persona but is a fantastic gui irl

100% agree but I expected a little bit more chirping from him.

I don’t know where the line is between friendly chirps and being an asshole to strangers, so I only get after my best friends.

He would probably share that sentiment.

After a round with @carrybagswag I’ll concur with him being a good dude. Making all the Jimmy’s and Jameses out there look alright.

People out here ruining my guy’s rep. Hate to see it.

What a great weekend.

First off, HCC or die.

Secondly, @Privatecollection threw a fantastic tournament/event. It was perfect. Did not see the magic guy coming. Shit was wild.

I met a ton of people who were all great hangs. @3PuttKing is a legend, who defended his title with honor. The final round was so much fun to watch while chopping it up with folks.

For a golf sicko, it was a perfect weekend. Time to start training to earn a spot for next year. Sandbagger flight will be MINE

@TonyPres it was a pleasure to loop for you! You played your a$$ off to win your flight and battled all afternoon.

@Privatecollection and Team NLU thanks for an amazing weekend! The grind for 25 begins

Well done, well played. We did it. THANK YOU

So yes, I’m one of those that writes a bunch of thoughts after these things. I’ve learned to split up my ramblings so here goes…

Thursday was my birthday and this weekend felt like a continuous birthday party. Loved every second of it. Thanks yall for being there.

Finally got to play with @NYC who I formally met on the Pinehurst putting green last year, although we went to the same high school! Thanks for playing and driving me to and from this weekend! MVP

Having @statguy in my group R1 was awesome as he’s played the course a bunch and was so cool to hear about what he’s got going on, which is A LOT hahah. He hits it well too! Keep it up man!

Played with @dilly.eats , @sundaybag and @hworth14 all for the first time yesterday and I’m already hoping to get that chance again. Guys are studs with the golf ball and great people. It was a real treat to have this group yesterday. Felt like we were all right there with Dillon being the “come get me” guy and we just couldn’t keep up. Huge shout to him for BALLING. It was clinical. He hooped one on 15 for a 2 - two days in a row!!! MENACE! It was an absolute pleasure to watch and compete against.

Big ups to all the flight winners for getting it done, going out to battle in the hottest part of the day and providing a show for us. Honorable mention @HHSBallcoach, great playing man. I love to watch Dusty hit it - dude’s a smooth operator.

Shoutout @reinben for golfing his ball and taking this thing home. I didn’t see the shot on 13 come in and thought it was a birdie when he rolled it in. Hitting what I would guess was a ~200 yard shot to 10(?) feet to that pin and cashing the putt was some high level menace behavior. Loved it! And then on 18 when it looked like it might get a little squirrely, he focused up and hit a fantastic pitch onto the green that all but sealed it for him. Great stuff!

Was not expecting a magician to pull up and pitch a perfect game but holy shit that was incredible. Making adults question their existence is objectively SICK. I’ll stand with Neil, if you’re out on magic, I may be out on you. Shoutout to Lucas for blowing everyone’s minds over and over again.

Rolling around watching the finals remains some of the best times you can have on a golf course. It’s hard for me to write about because it’s just such an experience. Thank you all for creating that space. I treasure those times and am sincerely grateful for it.

It’s so cool to be able to look forward to an event like this and be able to play your way in! I clipped TC by 1 on the Erin Hills putting course last year, to which he promptly responded “I had a 4 putt” - I got a good chuckle out of him when I told him “I DID TOO” hahaha. And yes, I got a scummy sponsor exemption this year but I feel like I did the opposite of Webb Simpson and took advantage of the opportunity. Supremely grateful for the invite and hope my performance was worthy.

Also shouts to the big guy @Randy for careering it yesterday. Love that for you man.

Thanks so much to everyone at NLU and behind the scenes for making this event a reality. BIGGEST of shouts to @PrivateCollection for continually doing the dam thing as best as it can be done! We appreciate your work so much! THANK YOU.

Going to be snowing in the mountains soon and I’m already excited for the next year of golf. I hope to see some of you out there soon.
Peace
