I mean I did shoot basically a mind numbingly boring -2 in the first round with 30mph wind…but yea, fair enough.

Haha fair. I meant even a straight ball can get into trouble, but sure.
Actually 16 is also (I think?) the only hole with homes/OB on both sides. It’s still pretty wide but there’s not a side you can totally bail to unlike the rest of the course.
